CATS associate researcher: Dr Jenni Ward
Lecturer in criminology (cybercrime)
Jenni’s current research is on the criminal courts, justice administration and sentencing outcomes, and imprisonment. She has recently published the book ‘Transforming Summary Justice: Modernisation in the Lower Criminal Courts’ as part of Routledge’s Frontiers of Criminal Justice Series. Jenni uses her previous research expertise on drugs and vulnerable groups, young people growing up in state care, and young care leavers to interface with understandings of criminal court justice. She is currently developing research that considers 18 to 25 year old young adult’s court and sentencing experiences, and has a keen interest in problem-solving justice approaches as alternative rehabilitation processes.
